Today Someone declared, “I am not quarantining with you people anymore!” Indeed, she packed a suitcase. Not sure where she thought she was going, but sometimes the emotions bubble out ahead of the reason. I really can’t blame her. We are pretty boring. Except when we’re exciting.

Today’s excitement included greeting the goats as they moved into the meadow/woods/swamp behind our house. They seemed to be torn between the smorgasbord that surrounded them and their newly weaned babies whom they left for the first time. I get it. I’ve felt that tension between food and family obligations too.

Tom spent his afternoon as he spends most of almost every day—he Zoomed with medical students/residents in NYC, hearing their stories of working in hospitals, clinics, online learning, or having nothing to do! Whatever the situation, being in healthcare during a pandemic presents a myriad of challenges.

This evening’s excitement was a picnic on the patio, made possible by Acorn Farms Catering. We ate our fill of BBQ and then made s’mores. Thanks Acorn Farms! It was great to be able to share that with family!
